Many of my clients who experience anxiety or fear sometimes try to approach those scary situations all at once, leading to overwhelm and giving up. This packet uses the common CBT concept of the exposure hierarchy to approach fears in a way that feels manageable.
This packet is five pages long, which is more lengthy than handouts on similar topics. This was intentional, as I designed this resource to help you or your client take the process in small and concrete steps. This helps to maintain motivation, and also means that the worksheet can be done on your own if you currently do not have access to a therapist.
Like most of my resources this one is designed to be visually appealing by using simple graphics and creative fonts (sometimes people find that they feel more motivated to keep working on something when they find it aesthetically pleasing!). Yet the design is simple enough to not be “busy” or interfere with the purpose of the handout.
This resource is both printable and available as a fillable PDF, perfect for telehealth. In addition to being able to have a print copy, you can also easily email a blank or completed version, as well as save it to your health records system.
